Cloud computing- the latest buzz word in the computer field. Well, what is cloud computing? Cloud computing is an emerging computing technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access.

With cloud computing all that you need is a computer with an internet connection, that’s it you need not to have any other thing installed in your computer. All applications will be installed in a central server, all that you need is to login into your cloud and you can manipulate all the files that are supported by the cloud. After manipulating is done, you can save it in the cloud itself. Some people might have configured how the system must behave for certain type of files, they may also have configured the look and feel, so they might face some difficulty if they want to manipulate some files from someone’s computer. With cloud computing this is eliminated. The above said thing is not a major advantage of cloud computing, and then what is the major advantage of cloud computing.

Imagine you are occupying a job in a big company and your job is to make sure that every computer in the company is having necessary and appropriate software, so that other people can continue with their work without any interpretation. Think about the license fee that has to be paid for every software suit that you are going to install in every computer. If the company is a spendthrift company, you will not run into any problem. On the other hand if the company does not want to spend huge money on software license and they wanted you to come up with an awesome idea, then cloud will be a promising idea to your company, but how? Just install the entire software suit in the cloud, so that whenever an employee is in need of software, a request can be made to the cloud for appropriate software. The only thing the user’s computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing system’s interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud’s network takes care of the rest. Cloud computing has many more advantages, I don’t want to jolt down all the things, why not a little research in the internet could fetch you a lot more detail.

For all this times, we have been speaking about the advantages. It has got some serious disadvantage. We all knew the fact that cloud computing operates over the network. Any thing that operates over the network will have hard times with privacy and security problems. How secured your content is, that resides in the cloud. If you are using a private cloud, that charges you based on hours, how can you check how reliable is your provider in terms of bandwidth, security etc.
