Second Story: Love and Loss

Steve is pretty lucky, because he did what he liked. Within 10 years Apple turned into 2 billion dollar company with 4000 employees. They produced their one of the finest creation MAC. Everything went fine in Steve’s’ life; he doesn’t know a big tragedy is waiting for him. His board of directors decided to fire him out of the company. What a hell are you speaking about..? How a founder and CEO of a company can be thrown out.(well , I too don’t know the reason behind it, if some one knows that share it with us). Soon he became a public failure. He came back where from he started. Almost he came to the roads. But again Steve continued to do what he loves. During the first few months, he doesn’t know what to do. Something started to dawn on him. During the next five years he started a company named NEXT and PIXAR, now Pixar is one of the most successful animation studio in this earth.  Pixar made the computer animated film “The Troy Story”. Soon Apple brought The Company NEXT and its not alone Next went under the control of Apple, it is also Steve who returned back to Apple. The technology that Steve developed in Next became the renaissance of Apple. He also met his life partner when he was out of Apple for five years. None of these could have happened if he was not fired out. Remember work is going to be filled for major part of your life. Do the work that makes you to feel great about it. The only way to do great work is to love what you do. Along with time you will tend to grow in a positive way.

Third story: The Death

Remembering that we will be dead soon, is one of the most successful tool, because almost everything starting from your fear of loosing something, pride etc falls away in front of dead. You are already naked; there is no reason that you should not follow your heart. Another blow came to him; he went to a doctor for a diagnosis. The doctor diagnosed him and said that, he is suffering from pancreatic cancer, a cancer that is incurable. The scan clearly showed a tumor in the pancreas. He had a biopsy in the following evening. The doctor took a piece of tumor cell, “Oh..! Jesus this is rare form of tumor that is curable with by a surgery”-said that the doctors. He undertook a surgery and thankfully he is completely cured. Thanks to the God.

Conclusion:

It’s simple. A life without failure is something unimaginable. You got to be a failure in some form otherwise how is that we are going to learn things. A big failure may thrash you out completely, but it’s the starting point for a beautiful thing. Love what you do and have some faith in you, and then God will definitely give you a hand.

In Lucknow, Oct. 24 – On Saturday, when Suhas Gopinath who is 23, went for Shaping for Young Minds Programme  (SYMP), there were not many to usher him to the scene. It was later than sometime that some of the organizers recognized him and ushered him inside the Sangeet Natak Academy auditorium where he was the main speaker for the gathering. And when the moderator introduced him, many gasped.
He was a boy who lived in Bangalore, like any other youth and children, but, at the age of 14 Suhas Gopinath turned out to be the youngest CEO in the world. He started his own company named Web-solutions Company; India Inc. today his company has his presence in 11 countries, with around 250 employees and a turn over of multi billion. A funny thing happened, during the World Bank meet, where the security stopped him, when he told them that he was the CEO and president of a company,” he reminisced talking to HT.

And he recalled instances when international firms refused business with his company simply because he didn’t have a proper moustache, he was (and still is) so young! He said, “Hailing from a conservative family, I knew there was no way I could give up on my studies. So, I took admission in an engineering college whose lecturer on coming to know that I owned a company, applied for a job with us!” Gopinath didn’t admit his teacher in his company. “We strictly go by merit and do not admit anyone on connections alone. In fact we do not even consider how many marks one has obtained. The emphasis is on skills,” he said.

Gopinath, who idolize Bill Gates said, “When the global condense happened, our company wasn’t impacted. In fact, at Davos, we issued an advisory for global firms on how to be a winner in recession hit times.” His message to the youths: “Being your own boss is far more fun. It was a visit to an Internet cafe as a kid that led me to think of launching a company offering web solutions.” The first employee he hired for his company was 30 years, half his age.

“I realized there was a issue if the employees had a boss half their age. To overcome this, we did two things, started hiring younger people and laid emphasis on doing away with hierarchy. Often, we would switch off lights and start playing with the employees. That helped me bond with the employees.” How much salary does he earn?

“Well so much is being said about CEO salaries these days. But let me tell you I draw a very meager salary, almost what my project manager gets. I utilize the rest of the amount for my company’s expansion.” By the time he was through, Suhas Gopinath had indeed shaped several young minds in the audience as most of them said they too would like to employ rather than get employed.

This spokeless bicycle is an innovative design from designer Bradford Waugh which makes wheel spokes redundant. It replaces the traditional gear system with one that allows for spokeless wheels. The fascinating thing about the bicycle is it is very hard to tell whether it is scientifically feasible. If it becomes feasible then people will run behind this new age of innovation.

In 1986, a hacker named The Mentor had made a manifesto that soon became so popular that it was considered as a bible by the hackers. When I first read it, I kept reading it about ten times because I was spellbound by the truth in it. Today, I would like to share it with my readers.

Another one got caught today, it’s all over the papers. “Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal”, “Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering”…

Damn kids. They’re all alike.

But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950’s technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him?

I am a hacker, enter my world…

Mine is a world that begins with school… I’m smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me…

Damn underachiever. They’re all alike.

I’m in junior high or high school. I’ve listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. “No, Ms. Smith, I didn’t show my work. I did it in my head…”

Damn kid. Probably copied it. They’re all alike.

I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it’s because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn’t like me… Or feels threatened by me.. Or thinks I’m a smart ass.. Or doesn’t like teaching and shouldn’t be here…

Damn kid. All he does is play games. They’re all alike.

And then it happened… a door opened to a world… rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict’s veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought… a board is found. “This is it… this is where I belong…” I know everyone here… even if I’ve never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again… I know you all…

Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They’re all alike…

You bet your ass we’re all alike… we’ve been spoon-fed baby food at school when we hungered for steak… the bits of meat that you did let slip through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We’ve been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.

This is our world now… the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn’t run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore… and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge… and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias… and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it’s for our own good, yet we’re the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.

I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual, but you can’t stop us all… after all, we’re all alike.
